Thank you to all who've helped!

We are so thankful for the many people who’ve made this trip possible: family, friends, complete strangers, fellow home schoolers, and even big companies. On this page, we’d like to acknowledge those folks who’ve become our family sponsors. These are people who’ve decided to help us on our way by gifting us with small comforts as we go. To all of you, we are most deeply grateful! If you choose to sponsor us on the Sponsor Us page, your name will show up here (unless you ask us not to!) as well as an acknowledgment of your kind gift.

A hearty thanks to:

Thank you Montalvos!

We so appreciate your lunch sponsorship! There is nowhere we'd rather have lunch out than in Italy! We'll have a big pasta lunch by the sea and think of you!

Thank you McDonald Family for another round of birthday lunch!

Megan's parents are as dedicated to this trip as we are... probably because we're holding their girl hostage! Not really! She flies home from Berlin in just nine days... too soon for us, not soon enough for her family in NH, I'm sure. They're letting her stay just a little bit longer to celebrate her 16th birthday in Europe! How cool is that?! As a gift, they've sponsored lunch out for all of the July and August birthdays in our family, which are many: Ezra, July 9th, Elisha, July 25th, Megan, July 27th, Hannah, July 30th and Mama, August 7th! Are you coughing through the candle smoke with us?! We ALWAYS appreciate lunch out, and this one will be especially festive! Thank you McDonalds!!

Thank you to the Gildner Family in Arkansas...

For their kind gift of train fare from Aachen, Germany to the site of the meeting of the underground home schoolers in Germany. Having never met you, it came as a complete surprise to find, through Evelyn, that you had sent money ahead of us to help our efforts on behalf of the home schooling families here. We never cease to be amazed at the way that God weaves the threads of lives together for the greater good. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for encouraging us and for encouraging home schooling in Germany. We hope very much to meet you in person when we return!

Thank you Olufunmilayo Osinowo

a friend of a friend who lives in the UK, Funmilayo left us a welcome message on our hotel answering machine when we arrived and has sponsored us for a dinner out... which we VERY much appreciate... especially Meg and I who do the dinner clean up!

Much thanks to Martin, of the Jack Pine Holdouts...

... for his generous lunch sponsorship! I can't tell you how much I will appreciate eating fish and chips in London in a REAL restaurant instead of yet another lunch of bread and cheese a la picnic blanket! It was lovely to meet you at The Mill, in Bristol. We thoroughly enjoyed your band! For those reading who don't know Martin and the band, check out their site: The Jack Pine Holdouts.

The Kuye family, of Alberta, Canada ...

... who sponsored us twice! The first gift is of two hotel rooms at the Sheraton Heathrow, in London England, for our first night off the plane. The second is for another hotel stay at some later point in our journey. We're not sure where it will be used, but if we're ready to stay in a hotel, then it will be used at our neediest moment. The Kuyes are adventurers in their own right, Nigerians by birth, Canadians by choice, they've traveled all over Europe with their two children and up into Alaska and all over Canada as well. They even schlepped five hundred miles to attend our wedding 14 years ago. Having them as chosen family is the greatest gift of all.

The Campbell family, of New Hampshire ...

... who sponsored a visit to the Tower of London Museum in London, England. As Mama Campbell tells it, her eleven year old son, Ian, was reading our website over her shoulder and said, "Tell ya what Mom, if you'll sponsor a museum visit, I'll pay half!" She took him up on his offer and we sure do appreciate it! And to Mr. Ian Cambell, our youngest sponsor so far: Thank you. We'll tour that Tower in your honor. Be sure to log on and read about our visit and see the pictures we take just for you!
